Rules of Conduct for Public Meetings

As adopted by the Hot Sulphur Springs Board of Trustees by a motion made on 12/15/2011

  1. All attendees are required to conduct themselves in a courteous and respectful manner.

  2. The printed agenda will not be deviated from unless agreed to by a majority of the Board.

  3. Town of Hot Sulphur Springs Board of Trustees meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end by 9:00 p.m. unless agreed to by a majority of the Board. Any unfinished business may be continued to the next regular meeting.

  4. The public is to refrain from private conversations that interrupt the proceedings of the Board.

  5. Persons not on the agenda who wish to speak will be limited to the “Public Comments” portion unless addressed by a Board member.

    • Each speaker will state their name and will be limited to five minutes which cannot be shared with other speakers.

    • All comments are to be directed to the Board as a body and not to individual members, Town staff, or other attendees.

    • The Board is not required to respond to any subject matter addressed during the “Public Comments” portion.

Sufficient warning will be given by the Chair in the event of a violation of the Rules of Conduct. If the violation occurs a second time, the Chair may ask the offender to leave for the remainder of the meeting.
