Thank you to all HSS residents and businesses for your cooperation with the CODE RED notice on Saturday evening. The Public Works Department had to shut off the Water Treatment Plant intake temporarily due to runoff from the burn scar areas. Water production was resumed on Sunday and plant operators have been monitoring the plant 24 hours a day since Saturday evening. The Town of Hot Sulphur Springs is asking residents and businesses to continue conserving water, but tanks are being kept as full as possible for showers, dishwashers, laundry to resume.
The Town of Hot Sulphur Springs would also like to thank Grand County Office of Emergency Management Joel & Alexis, GCSO Brett Schroetlin, GC Manager Ed Moyer, GC BOCC Kris Manguso, HSS/P Fire Chief Tom Baumgarten, Town of Kremmling Jason Bock and GC Water Specialist Katherine Morris for helping us get the CODE RED notice coordinated while trying to access & navigate a muddy river in the dark and day that followed. These entities are ALL working around the clock to ensure our safety and Town Staff is grateful for their assistance.
Heavy rain is forecasted again and we will try to keep residents posted of any changes. Please subscribe to Grand County Office of Emergency Management’s alert center and continue to use caution in burn scar areas. Contact Town Hall with any questions at (970) 725-3933.
